Part III: Up to Base Camp

The climb to base camp

Our lead climbing team departs for Base Camp, ferrying the first load of supplies up to the starting point. Note the treacherous footing.
Base Camp Established After a strenuous climb, the site for Base Camp is located at a flat spot on the lip of  a cliff. Base Camp will be our home while we adjust to the oppressive altitude.
