Part VIII: "To The Summit!"
After the Fencepole Traverse, the steep slope levels slightly. Here the team presses on to the summit under the oppressive atmosphere.
Here we are! We've Done It! Hot, Sweaty, Exhausted - but Exhilarated! We've reached the highest point in Kansas! The Colorado border, one-half mile away to the west, can be seen in the distance. This is the moment the team will remember for the rest of their lives.
	Much later, back at the Colorado border, we stop for a moment to remember all those who have attempted to climb Sunflower and have failed. Why climb Mt. Sunflower? BECAUSE IT WAS THERE!
