Rules for Remuddlers
First thing we do... Kill all the Remuddlers!

- Richard III by William Shakeshingle

Remuddling is the crime of compromising the integrity of a building by misguided remodeling which mixes the real character of the building with fanciful recreations. Some remuddlings are out of innocence, some (far worse) are from dogged ignorance, and some (the worst) are out of misguided attempts to improve.  The authors are in complete agreement that those who remuddle automatically waive their Constitutional protections in the 5th Amendment against cruel and unusual punishment.

True believers will find it hard to go on. Weeping is allowed.

  1. "To Hell with the era of the house!"
  2. Everything should be beige.
  3. Aluminum Siding always looks best.
  4. The only thing better than track lighting is recessed canister lighting.
  5. A Jacuzzi in every bathroom.
  6. It was built before 1950 so it must be Victorian.
  7. Let's knock out a wall to accommodate the wide screen TV.
  8. Of course, Corian is historic!
  9. "I don't CARE how they did it back in the old days!"
Remuddle: Kings College, Cambridge with a new front door.
